Cleanroom fabrication has had a long and distinguished history at the University of Southampton, particularly in silicon microelectronics research. The electronics department is well-known for innovative technologies and their application to silicon devices and systems. As we move into a new era of nanoscale technologies we are pushing the boundaries of research with new materials, devices and systems, with insights taken from a multidisciplinary field covering materials, chemistry, bioscience and nanotechnology.
