Partnering between the MoD and industry is a central theme of the Defence Industrial Strategy and a key aspiration to ensure that common goals are identified and achieved, with a focus on performance. But how to put this into practice effectivelv is still being explored and developed. In submarine support, a significant step forward is now being made with the implementation of a new approach, focused on collaboration and partnering from the outset to optimise performance.rnKey tenets of the new approach include greater transparency of information, including financial data, between both parties; joint working; cost reduction while improving safety and quality standards; and incentivising the achievement or bettering of the agreed schedule.
