The Air Force's effort to help allies modernize their militaries is facing a new set of challenges ~ higher demand for fourth-generation fighter jets and segregated air and missile defense systems. That's why the head of foreign partnerships in the Air Force's international affairs office is prioritizing bolstering the service's acquisition and sustainment teams and tracking internal progress with joint all-domain command and control in 2020. The service saw major foreign military sales growth in fiscal year 2019, and Brig. Gen. Matthew Isler expects to see even more this year, driven by demand for variants of Boeing's F-15 and Blocks 70 and 72 of Lockheed Martin's F-16, he told Inside Defense in a Jan. 21 interview.
