Amyloid- (A) peptides, the major constituent of the senile plaques in brain of Alzheimer disease(AD) patient, have been regarded as the reliable molecular biomarkers and therapeutic targets for thediagnosis and prognosis of AD. The aggregation of A is also believed to be a critical step in theaetiology of AD. Recently, electrochemical techniques have been successfully used to selectivelydetect kinds of A species and monitor the oligomerisation and assembly of A because of their highsensitivity, simplicity, rapid response, and compatibility with miniaturization. In this work, wesummarized the progress in the development of electrochemical methods for detecting A peptides andmonitoring their aggregation.
