AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To determine the effect of a practical oriented curriculum on fifth-year medicalstudents test performance during Obstetrics &Gynaecology clerkship and to find out the level of satisfactionof the students during the clerkship.MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study was conducted in Melaka Manipal Medical College from 16November 2009 to 1 August 2010.This is a descriptive study. The students were already divided in smallgroups comprising 10-11 students in each group.RESULTS: Out of 103 students 71 students (68.9%) passed the block exam. 88 students (85.4%) passedblock exam 2 and 101 students (98.1%) passed final end posting test. 51/60 students ( 85%) responded witha high rating for the clerkship program.CONCLUSIONS: By the structured curriculum and variety of activity senior clerkship programme canachieve the target of teaching them evidence based medicine and we can achieve our goal towards trainingthe final year medical students.
