Abstract:Objective To analyze the potential causes and countermeasures of partial loss of surgical items during operation period, in order to improve the quality and safety of patients. Methods 〓A Retrospective analysis was made on the report of partial loss of surgical items during operation between January 2012 and December 2016. Results 〓A total of 27 cases of partial loss of surgical items were observed, in which the 9 cases(30.00%)with the loss of top part. Conclusion 〓It is required to enhance the monitoring on integrity, function and quality of surgical instruments, in order to ensure the safety of surgical patients and create a safe surgical environment.
