Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of case tracking teaching methods in clinical teaching for nursing undergraduates. Methods 〓Totally 45 nursing undergraduates taking internships in hospital between July, 2014 and September, 2015 were included as the control group. Another 38 nursing undergraduates were recruited as the observation group between October, 2015 and December, 2016. Students in the control group received conventional teaching methods in clinical practice modules, and those in the observation group were given case tracking teaching methods in clinical teaching. The enthusiasm for professional learning, satisfaction degree on clinical teaching and clinical comprehensive ability of students were evaluated and compared between two groups. Results 〓Nursing students in the observation group were more enthusiastic for professional learning than those in the control group(P0.05). Students in the observation group had a higher satisfaction degree on clinical teaching and achieved a better outcome in assessment of clinical comprehensive ability compared with those in the control group(P0.05). Conclusion Case tracking teaching method is potentially effective to promote initiative of learning, critical thinking and clinical comprehensive ability of nursing undergraduates during internships.
