The changes of the ecological space pattern will certainly cause the changes of the ecological function, and study the changing of the migration and changing of the different landscape types can effectively identify the changing trend of the regional ecological environment and its internal factors. Research on the ecological risk focuses on addressing the influence of human activities and its spatial variation at regional scale is vital to policy-making to control the impact of human activity and protocols for sustainable economic and societal development. In order to provide the theoretical and technical support for land development construction and eco-environmental management in Xi’an Chanba ecological district. Based on the remote sensing data in 2004, 2009 and 2014, this paper analyzed the variation trends of the land use type and landscape pattern in Chanba Ecological District. The ecological risk index , that of the District was re-sampled and spatially interpolated, and its spatiotemporal pattern in the rural-urban ecotone of the District was analyzed, It shows that from 2004 to 2014, the region exhibits a high fragmentation of the urban landscape characteristics, regional landscape diversity, evenness increases, the advantage was reduced, the regional landscape from the original farmland landscape absolute state control into many types of control urban landscape. The ecological risk distribution presents a upward trend, however, the high risk region of the transfer is more fit for the three stages of the developing policy and the focus of the construction. This verified the construction planning and ecological strategy of the research area to a certain extent, and also verified the ecological risk index is useful for eco-risk management and Ecological policy formulation.
