Employee engagement is a perennial issue for HR and L&D departments, as every organization wants a work-force that will go that extra mile. But what are the facets of management essential to building such an environment? In her new book, The Culture Builders, Jane Sparrow looks at how some of the world's leading organizations operate in order to get the best from their people. In doing so, Sparrow identified five prevalent leadership styles: 1. The Prophet. The person that stands at the front of the room and boldly says: "In five years we will be..." No looking backward for them, they are about painting a picture of our future, providing inspiration about the next phase and firing us up for what could be.
