摘要

"Don't panic!" is a familiar exhortation when you suspect the stress of a situation is going to make someone too anxious to function effectively. But we do panic; we do get stressed out and anxious. If we didn't there wouldn't be so many reminders of why we shouldn't.FedEx once used the words as a marketing slogan, it featured prominently as a catchphrase in the "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" as it did in the British TV comedy series "Dad's Army" and it has been used as song and album titles. It is also an expression that trainers and development specialists might feel like shouting (but presumably don't - well not often!) when faced with learners whose stress and anxiety of being in the learning environment might seriously compromise their receptiveness.
