摘要

Visitors to France have always had to watch out for strikes that might disrupt their holidays or business trips. So far this year air-traffic controllers, taxi drivers and (this week) dockers have walked out. Last November it was the railwaymen. Plus ca change, you might think. But the pattern of French industrial action is changing. A study commissioned by the labour ministry found that the number of days lost to strikes has fallen since the late 199os-yet the number of French firms hit by industrial disputes went up by roughly half between 1998 and 2004.
