The last few years have seen the sad demise of several key figures in the field of educational leadership in Britain. Harry Tomlinson, Len Watson and Ray Bolam all died in 2005 or 2006, leaving behind legacies of their immense contributions to the field. Tributes to their lives and work have been paid at BELMAS conferences, in this Journal and elsewhere.
