摘要

Ultraviolet radiation (uv) is one of main factors influencing accelerated ageing of composite insulators. An exposure to that type of radiation causes permanent destruction of composite insulation, since its bond energy is usually less than radiation energy. Frequently, the high energy radiation exposure factors are combined with occurrence of other ageing factors, e.g. ozone and nitrogen oxides, being formed as an aftereffect of UV radiation on the air.
