EPA is scrapping its controversial Trump-era guidance that environmentalists said unlawfully narrowed a significant new use rule (SNUR) for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), alongside issuing a legally-mandated TSCA proposal setting new reporting requirements for PFAS manufactured or imported since 2011. The agency announced both moves in a June 10 release that said they will "help deliver on" EPA's commitment to reducing risks from PFAS, and where it also touts the June 2 addition of three perfluorinated chemicals to the Toxics Release Inventory, joining the dozens of PFAS for which reporting is already required under that program.
