摘要

It is pleasure to pay tribute to Donald McLusky's contribution to the development of Estuarine Coastal and Shelf Science (ECSS). Since he took over as an Editor from Professor Ernest Naylor in January 2000, Donald has been instrumental in the evident improved quality of the contents of the journal during his tenure, as well as in its international standing. Donald had been refereeing papers for ECSS for many years when, following the recommendation of the Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association (ECSA), he took over as the Editor of ECSS covering biological papers from Europe, Africa and Western Asia. The Editorship was shared with two others (now Professor Eric Wolanski who took over from Professor Nic Flemming, and Professor Ivan Valiela who took over from Professor Steve Sulkin during Donald's term).
