Whale watching is a hugely popular attraction for passengers but those on board the cruise ship Sapphire Princess would have had a shock if they had peered over the bow one morning in July. Unfortunately, the ship had hit a juvenile humpback and there it was, stuck on the ship's bulbous bow when it moored near Juneau in Alaska. At the time of writing, federal authorities were investigating the cause of death.
