Indonesia is taking steps to improve the efficiency of its maritime logistics, along with signing an accord with Japan for joint development a new USD3 billion deepsea port. Jakarta is implementing a plan to enable its ports to capture a larger share of domestic transhipment cargo and introducing changes to support more investment and private-sector participation in maritime logistics, with the aim of cutting dwell times at its ports.
