Ship repair company Gibdock is enjoying another strong year with a good spread of work types, but is also increasingly targeting the growing Mediterranean and west African offshore market. "Attracting offshore work is part of our long-term strategy for growth, and Gibraltar's location helps us do that," MD Richard Beards told IHS Maritime. The move into offshore was strongly supported by Gibdock's owner, US investment fund MVC Capital, noted Beards. "As well as the well-established west African offshore sector, Gibdock has already done good business in north Africa and the Med in general. That means we are not dependent on any one geographic area," he added.
