US-based Triple Point Technology, which provides commodity trading software, has moved into the shipping sector by buying Switzerland's Softmar, described as "the premier provider of software solutions for commercial chartering and vessel operations."rnSoftmar's co-founder, Michael Lolk Larsen has become Triple Point's managing director of chartering and vessel operations and he will be responsible for integrating the two companies' product portfolios. These include TriplernPoint's Commodity XL suite of programs, which it says "is the only commodity trading and risk management system that works across multiple commodities."
