On approaching Gravelines at 17,000 feet two enemy aircraft were sighted. Red Leader and I gave chase using 12 boost. These aircraft were identified as Me 110s. Red Leader shot one down in flames. On returning to Grave we saw enemy bombers attacking destroyers off Calais. Going into the attack we were in turn attacked by Me 110s. I shot one Me 110 down in flames after three bursts and immediately became sandwiched between two more Me 110s, experiencing considerable fire.
