Assisted by Terry Rainforth, Membership Officer As Education Officer 1 have responsibility for upholding the high standards set by my predecessors and for setting the future direction and development of the Institute's training material and examination standards. The Education Working Group is currently developing a three year plan to ensure we have a firm focus and direction. The challenges ahead are considerable and we need to extend our energies in the areas that will best serve our members and the Institute. There are opportunities to exploit new technology for the development and accessibility of educational material, along with how our examinations will be presented and marked in the future. At present these are labour intensive, requiring much commitment and support from a team of volunteer group members. Further efficiency is needed so that we can more flexibly develop new material, capitalising on our Education Group members'expertise without generating onerous amounts of work.
