Throughout time, people have been fascinated with the future. From Mary Shelley to William Gibson, and from Leonardo da Vinci to the Wright Brothers, writers and inventors have captured this fascination through their imaginations and inventions. As well, oracles, diviners, seers, psychics, prophets and soothsayers have sometimes been held in great esteem as their, often sophist, advice has served to guide individual and collective actions.
