Veolia Environnement has won an eight-year contract worth EUD 60m from the French automotive group PSA Peugeot Citroen for the management of environmental services at its Trnava production site in Slovakia. Energy production and distribution, water treatment, industrial waste processing and cleaning at the Slovakian site will be the responsibility of Veolia, which already provides services for PSA at some French sites. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that bidding for work on diverting the waters of the Rio Sao Francisco to the drought regions of the northeast would begin in September.
