Safe, mass-market aesthetics still may have its place among volume-dependent mid-tier timeshare units, but for high-end projects such as the St. Regis Residence Club, Aspen, Beijing's Absolute Private Residence Club Jing Qiao International Garden and Hilton Grand Vacation Club Tuscany in Orlando, "bland" is out of the picture. Bold is what sells. "People buy based on their fantasies," says Donna Watson-Rossmoore, director of interior design, Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo's (WATG) Orlando office, the design team for the 456-unit Hilton Grand Vacation Club Tuscany. "Some may see 24/7 extreme entertainment; others may visualize relaxation or family values. What they all want is something with the warmth of home but all the excitement of being on vacation."
