摘要

The American tradition places a high value on education, and most employers who send people overseas arernprepared to bear the expense, if necessary, of educating their employees' dependents. If public schools arernavailable and are considered to be of good quality and to offer courses comparable to an American education,rnthen most employers will refuse to pay for an education elsewhere. If the only adequate local schools are private,rnthe employer usually will pay tuition. If no local schools are adequate, the employer generally will bear the cost ofrntuition, board and housing for schooling in the employee's home country, including fare for an annual trip to visitrnthe parents. A third alternative is sometimes used, especially when the employer sends a number of lower-levelrnemployees into a remote area: the employer itself sets up a school for its employees' children.
