摘要

The Irish National Seabed Survey Seminar was held on Friday 5th November, the day after the conclusion of Hydro 04'. The seminar was arranged by the Geological Survey of Ireland at the Galway Bay Hotel. Until recent years, Ireland has not been an active player in hydrography, relying rather on early surveys by the British Hydrographic Office and the resulting Admiralty charts. However, at the end of the 20th century considerable funds became available and the Geological Survey of Ireland was given the task of surveying the whole of Ireland's continental shelf, along the lines proposed by UNCLOS.
