The United Nations 2010 Global E-Government Survey has been released and places Korea at the top of its rankings, in both the Development Index and E-Participation Indexes, In the Development Index, the United States, Canada and United Kingdom received 2-3-4 places. For the e-Participation Index, Australia, Spain and New Zealand were ranked 2-3-4. The overall objective of the survey was to examine the role e-Government has played in increasing public trust, boosting transparency through the free sharing of government data based on open standards, and speeding up public service delivery and regulatory reform at a time of economic crisis. The report also presents various roles for e-Government in addressing the ongoing world financial and economic crisis.
