Inspired by Derek de Solla Price's 'little science' and 'big science', Christine L. Borgman, in her book, Big Data, Little Data, No Data: Scholarships in the Networked World, calls attention to the existence of a variety of data for different purposes in scholarship. She, however, believes that despite big data being in vogue in the media, little data or even no data for whatever reasons are also common in the academic world and maintain their significance.
