A colleague once told me, "Don't make mistakes." Well, I see value in highlighting lessons learned from experiences with unintended consequences. Some organizations encourage the sharing of mistakes in order to improve work going forward. I know of one organization that required write-ups whenever a mistake was made-those involved would share what they had learned and store the information on an accessible drive. Sometimes, experiences were summarized with bullet points to share lessons learned with the field as a whole.Are you working in a culture that emphasizes no mistakes?
