EveryLibrary has been changing the game for public and school libraries ever since it was founded in 2012. Its first Library Advocacy and Funding Conference (LAFCON; lafcon .org), held virtually during the week of Sept. 14, was the latest example of its innovative approach. As with many pioneering efforts, some elements worked better than others, but the overall result was a stimulating conference that delivered actionable insights to its audience of (mostly) public and school librarians who are concerned with fundraising, advocacy, community engagement, and building political support.
