To say that Ingrid Parent has been busy since she became president of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) in August 2011 is an understatement. In her world travels, she has discovered two recurring messages from the IFLA membership, according to her end-of-the-year newsletter. First, young people want to be more involved. In fact, IFLA's student membership is increasing, and students are becoming more active in the New Professionals Special Interest Group (NPSIG).
