The International Conference "Problems of Pathology, Immunology, and Health Protection of Fish and Other Aquatic Species-2," organized by the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Papanin Institute for Biology of Inland Waters of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Council on Problems of Hydrobiology and Ichthyology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, together with the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Federal Agency of Fishery of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation (Federal State Institution Interdepartmental Ichthyology Commission), the Ministry of Education and Sciences (Moscow State University of Technology and Management), was held in Borok, Yaroslavl oblast on July 17-20, 2007. The conference was attended by 86 researchers and specialists from 33 scientific organizations and institutions representing Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Taiwan, and Vietnam.rnAt the conference more than 78 out of the announced 133 reports were heard: 19 in the plenary session, 44 in the sections sessions, and 15 as posters. Five sections were held during the conference: 1. Topical Problems of General and Particular Immunology and Pathology; 2. Assessment of Individuals, Populations, Communities, and Ecosystems; 3. Morphological, Ecological, Genetic, and Biochemical Aspects of Pathology in Natural and Controlled Ecosystems; 4. Immunity to Parasites in Fish and Other Aquatic Organisms; 5. Problems of Health Protection of Aquac-ulture Objects.
