摘要

Although student loans are a burden to millions of borrowers, for investors they can be ablessing. As the U.S. government encourages refinancing of the more than $1 trillion in federal and private loans held by recent graduates, institutions like Apollo Global Management see an opportunity for credit investments backed by relatively stable lenders. So-called marketplace, orpeer-to-peer, lending platforms are helping to meet this growing appetite. In recent months players such as Lending Club, LendKey and CommonBond have stepped in to create a secondary market for student loans, attracting big money from investors keen on consumer credit.
