"I see a lot of similarities between the semiconductor and Pharmaceuticals industries," he says. Both require innovation through collaborations with customers, he adds, with multiyear development time lines. For the fiscal yearthrough March, JSR reported that net sales rose 2.5 percent year over year, to ¥404 billion ($3.4 billion), and operating profit surged 5.6 percent, to ¥38 billion.
