摘要

The United Nations Environment Program and senior Kenyan government officials joined Sept. 7 with representatives from Microsoft Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., and other electronic device makers to recommend that Kenya develop legislation in the next six months to manage electronic waste.rnKenya Environment Minister John Michuki said the government is committed to develop a comprehensive legal framework for electronic waste management before March 2011. The new law would set penalties for the dumping of electronic waste and would promote principles of recycling, refurbishing, and reusing electronic products, he said.
