A contract was recently awarded by Hydro-Quebec to Alstom Hydro for the supply of equipment for La Romaine 2, Canada. The scope of supply will be for two 320 MW vertical Francis turbines and associated equipment, including the generator, two inlet valves and two governing systems. Alstom is also responsible for installing the equipment. Core components will be engineered and manufactured in Quebec at Alstom Hydro's factory in Sorel-Tracy.Thern640 MW plant will be the first of four stations which will make up the La Romaine hydro complex, with an annual output of 8 TWh.
