When the design engineers set out to design the new range, a lot of time was spent trying to find ways to design-out one of the problems faced with Blowing Seal type rotary valves; maintaining the air velocity between the valve and the conveying pipe whilst still achieving a good rotor pocket purge. Designers at Rota Val have solved this problem using computational fluid dynamics software.
