The Thai Cabinet approved on 11 July a Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) proposal to procure additional T-50TH (Thailand) Golden Eagle lead-in fighter trainer aircraft from Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI). The proposal - tabled by Defence Minister Prawit Wong-suwan - features the acquisition of eight aircraft for THB8.8 billion (USD258 million), with payment to be spread over four fiscal years, Jane's understands. A contract to secure the deal is expected to be signed later this month.
