The Netherlands has published an updated version of its Defence Materiel Process (DMP): the formal document that outlines the country's approach to the acquisition of equipment, services, infrastructure, and information technology. The updated document was released at the start of September following a review that commenced in 2014. The principal changes from the previous version relate to the value threshold for projects to come under the DMP. This was raised from EUR5 million (USD6 million) to EUR25 million in order to streamline smaller acquisitions. Provisions have also been introduced to allow procurement phases to be skipped or run together in parallel in order to shorten acquisitions times in the case, for example, of urgent requirements for specific missions.
