The US Air Force (USAF) on 24 August blamed errors in internal processes for an inaccurate cost estimate of the Long-Range Strike Bomber (LRS-B) programme it provided to Congress, but said the error has been corrected. "The mistake was a regrettable error, but it has been corrected, so it is not going to affect us internally," said USAF Secretary Deborah Lee James during a Pentagon press conference.
