The Venezuelan Army has begun to establish units and designate equipment to existing units as deliveries get under way of Russian hardware ordered In 2008 and 2009.So far the main unit in charge of receiving the equipment is the 41 st Armoured Brigade, which forms part of the 4th Division, along with the 42nd Para Infantry and 44th Light Armour brigades.The 41st Armoured Brigade's units include the 416th Air Defence Artillery Group, which is being equipped with towed ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns.Also being established under the 41 st Armoured Brigade is the 4102 Mechanised Cavalry Squadron, which will be equipped with BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.Meanwhile, the 411th Mechanised Infantry Battalion (BIMEC) 'General de Division Jose Antonio AnzoStegui' at Carora is slated as the next unit to receive the new equipment. Deliveries to this unit will also include BMP-3s.
