The us defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control are preparing to undertake the first flight test of a prototype air-launched Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile (LRASM) from a US Air Force B-iB Lancer bomber in the third quarter of 2013. Meanwhile, the company announced on 5 March that it had received a USD71 million contract modification for additional the LRASM flight test and risk-reduction activities. Under this award, a third air-launched flight test will be conducted from a B-1B in late 2013 (two air-launched flight tests having already been funded under existing contracts).
