摘要

During its trans-Atlantic deployment, Aquitaine embarked an NH90 Caiman helicopter detachment. The flight, with its two pilots, two tactical co-ordinators, two sensor operators, one rescue diver, and eight maintenance staff, added 15 personnel to the crew. The Caieman capability will be key to FREMM's capacity to successfully carry out a range of missions, including ASW and target designation. During the deployment, the embarked helicopter logged just over 75 flying hours and carried out more than 100 deck landings. It also undertook a wide range of missions, including sea surveillance. Caiman is equipped with a Thales Underwater Systems Folding Light Acoustic System for Helicopter (FLASH) dipping sonar.
