There are presented existence results of the optimal domain for some classes of shape functionals involving solutions of elliptic equations. A special class of "regularized" functionals is identified, for which the existence of the optimal domain follows without any constraint on the moving domain. For non-regularized shape functionals the constraints are given in terms of capacity or the density perimeter.
