摘要

The field of business strategy abounds with learning opportunities: degree programs, executive education, paper and web journals, and shelves full of books. Presumably, then, upper-level managers overall are familiar with principles that now are accepted as conventional wisdom in business strategy and are likely to agree with many. It appears, however, that they are less likely to put them into practice. The study described here examined two questions: how are strategic principles implemented, and what predicts differences between organizations in the extent to which they implement them? The principles on which the study focuses are five offered over the last half-century by Peter F. Drucker.
