Study of the growth atomsphere effect on optical and scintilaiton characteristics of large CsI(TI) crystals

摘要

In contrast to the traditioanl growth method of large scinttillation alkali halide crystal - in an inert atomsphere, CsI(TI) crystals have been grown inCO_2 atomsphere favoring changes of their impruity composition. Absorption andsintillaiton characteristics of crystals obtained have been studied in comparison to those grown in the inert gas medium. Effect of different radiaion doses on variations in optical and scintillation charactristics has been studied for CsI(TI) crystals grwon by various technqiues. CsI(TI) crystals grown in CO_2 atomsphere are found to exhibit a higher radiation resisance and a faster restoraion of their basic characteristics.
