In May 2018, legislation that impacts all U.S. food consumers, farmers, and food processors was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives--the U.S. Farm Bill. This bill is renewed about every five years and results in comprehensive changes to U.S. agriculture policy. As of this writing, the bill still has to pass the U.S. House of Representatives, pass the U.S. Senate, and be signed into law by the President. However, the basic framework of the bill has been introduced from the House Agriculture Committee.
