Urban Track is an EC-funded research project within the 6th Framework Programme. The aim of Urban Track is to develop harmonised urban rail infrastructure and maintenance processes leading to significantly lower Life Cycle Costs (LCC) on the infrastructure side. The 48 month-long project started in September 2006 and has a total project volume of approximately EUR 20 million. An overview of the project structure was already given in the March 2008 PTI issue and will not be repeated here.
