This article describes policy and research recommendations elaborated by the VOYAGER project for the future development of public transport until 2020. They are based on the results of the thematic expert working groups, who accompanied the project throughout its lifetime. The policy recommendations summarised in this article have been built upon the analysis of the current situation and take into account the societal megatrends affecting public transport, which have been described in PTI 02/2004.
