摘要

A pretreatment with liquid ammonia causes improved enzymatic hydrolysability of cotton, lyocell, and viscose fibres. This effect is dependent on the method used for the liquid-ammonia removal. Only if the ammonia is rinsed and neutralized with water can the wet fibre be hydrolysed faster by cellulases. Cotton and lyocell lose their high accessibility to enzymes after drying. However, viscose fibres show drastically increased enzymatic hydrolysability after a drying step.
